I’m a morning person.
Every morning is like a blank page waiting for a story to be written. One we want to read at the end of the day.
My morning ritual is purposeful. That wasn’t always the case.
I used to begin my mornings reaching for my phone.
Doom scrolling before I even knew what it was. The latest news. Social media posts, videos, comments.
Filling my mind with random content before filling my cup with calm.
My days reflected my morning time. Negative news and doom scrolling drained me of energy and focus the day would require.
I didn’t know it then. But I do now. How I start my day affects the rest of my day.
Every morning God bring us word of His unfailing love. He stands ready to fill our cups to overflowing. With His peace, promises and provision.
But when we fill up on everything else, there’s no room for what’s needed most.
I scroll social media. And I read the news. But now I do it later in the day. Not at the beginning of it.
Your morning ritual matters. And you get to tailor it to create the day you want to follow it.
My day begins with the Giver of my day. I need quality time with my Father.
It’s non- negotiable. I’m saner and sweeter after time with Him.
What’s your morning ritual? How is it impacting your day?
Is your cup being filled with life-giving contents? Sustenance to sustain you all day? Everyday?
Once your morning routine ends, how do you feel? Energized and excited to begin the day? Focused? Calm? Peaceful?
Because our mornings matter more than we realize.
