When you imagine your future, do you smile? If not, you can.
I know for certain the Proverbs 31 woman does.
Yes she’s simply a description a mom gives a son looking for a wife.
But that description is our inspiration.
She’s described as excellent. Not perfect. Big difference.
She lives with intention. Not intimidation. Or insecurity.
She possess clarity.Vision.
It’s her compass.
Driving her decisions.
Clarity and confusion cannot co-exist.
Confusion creates fear. Clarity provides boundaries.
Around your time, wealth. Health and surroundings.
Without clarity you’ll live from emotion, insecurity and intimidation.
Instead of intentional decisions you’ll choose what feels safe and comfortable in the moment.
What’s acceptable. Or brings approval.
With no thought to long term effects.
You’ll say yes when you mean no.
Spend impulsively.
Eat from boredom or emotion. Not hunger.
You’ll excuse bad behavior.
Stay in environments you’ve outgrown.
Around people who don’t value you.
In jobs that deplete you.
I believe she could smile at her future because she decided it in her present. Her todays set her up for the tomorrow she wanted.
The future requires imagination. To visualize what is. Even when it isn’t.
To establish habits, elevate beliefs, protect emotional space, practice elegant restraint, discernment and wisdom.
Living without clarity now is costly later.
Let’s get clear today on what we want to celebrate come December.
Then we can make decisions that support that vision.
At the end of this year how do you want to describe your life?
Your body and energy?
Your relationships and wealth?
Your experiences, style and surroundings?
The Life Refinery is the journey of defining, refining and designing. Ourselves. And our lives.
Who’s ready to start smiling at her future? I am.
