For years I had a clear vision and specific goals. But nothing changed.
Until I met James.
He tells us how to alter facts using faith and action.
And gives an example of what that looks like.
Let’s say we meet someone living “without (adequate clothing) and lacks (enough) food for each day.”
So we tell them to “Go in peace (with my blessing), (keep warm) and feed yourselves,” but
We don’t “give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do?”
Fact: they’re cold and hungry. Faith: we have faith facts will change for them.
Action taken to change their fact: none.
Results: nothing.
Lesson: “faith, if it does not have works (to back it up), is by itself dead (inoperative and ineffective.)”
In 2014 I wanted to lose fifteen pounds.
I created a vision. I set goals.
But I did nothing. Instead I let my moods sabotage my vision.
If I didn’t feel like working out or walking I didn’t.
If I was bored, upset, stressed or frustrated I ate.
Even when I wasn’t hungry.
Actions (or lack of) will either sabotage or support our goals.
David would agree. Goliath was a fact.
David had faith God “will hand you over to me.”
Slaying the giant was his goal.
Slinging the stone was his action.
David had to decide.
Accept the giant. Avoid the giant.
Or alter the giant.
We get to choose too.
Deny or do nothing while wishing for something to change.
Or alter facts using faith and action.
Personally I prefer the second option.
What about you?
Have any current facts you’re tired of avoiding or accepting and are ready to alter?
