Why Vision

In 1984 my English teacher gave us a unique assignment.

Create a life vision.

A list of places, skills, traits and adventures we wanted to embody and experience in life.

Making my list was easy.

Making it happen wasn’t.

At 17 I had a vivid imagination. And a lot of fears.

Fear of failing, rejection, making wrong decisions etc.

You can’t build a thriving life on the flimsy foundation of fear.

In 2011 I found that list.

Revised it. And used it to create an extraordinary reinvention.

I believe inspiration is a necessary ingredient for elevation.

So I studied the Israelites path to the promised land.

It went through a wilderness. It seems most do.

God knew those desert days would be difficult to navigate.

So He painted them a mental portrait of His divine promise. Plenty. Provision. Protection.

When tempted to turn back or settle there, they’d have a clear vision to provide the determination to press on.

Visualizing the land wasn’t the problem.

Believing God’s promise for it was.

Paul said “they were not able to enter (into His rest – the promised land) because of their unbelief and unwillingness to trust in God. (Hebrews 3:19. AMP)

Unbelief is the obstacle between knowing God’s promises and experiencing them.

It creates deadly delays to our dreams.

Promised lands require belief in His promises. Then and now.

Wilderness seasons are designed to develop not discourage us.

To teach us to focus on His Word while facing our problems.

Vision is a divine tool designed to help us break free us from old patterns of thinking, speaking, believing, attitudes and actions.

Do you have a vision for your health or home, family, finances or future?

Dream of traveling or creating personal transformation?

Helen Keller said “the only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision.”

Helen was right.

So starting today we’re dusting off our dreams.

Crafting visions.

Creating goals. Cultivating faith.

Building the beautiful life together.
