Word Power

Words were the tools used to create something from nothing, to fill the empty with plenty. (Genesis 1) ‘

Words act as prophetic predictors of your present and future.

“I’ll never lose the weight” or “I can never catch a break.” “Things will never get better.”

“I can’t afford it” “I’m not outgoing, talented, gifted, skilled, thin, pretty, intelligent, educated. . . enough.”

I hear this. I’ve said this.

We plead to God for success while our words predict failure.

We create physical evidence with our words.

And it’s not just what we say. But also what’s said to us.

How many women still suffer from words spoken to them as children?

I get to choose the words I speak and the words I accept that are spoken to me. You do too.

You get to select the words you speak and they’ll set you up to win or make certain you don’t.

Don’t let shame from past mistakes keep you silent on the sidelines.

Get off your back and start having your back starting with your words.

And refuse to accept what others say about you.

The woman at the well believed the gossips declaring “she can’t keep a man” or “she can’t be alone.” “She’s so needy, high maintenance, . . .”

Their words spoken to and about her became her beliefs and reality. (John 4: 7 – 29) Her life became proof of their words. Until Christ came and spoke a fresh word to her.

“The one who guards his mouth (thinking before he speaks) protects his life: the one who opens his lips wide (and chatters without thinking) comes to ruin.” Prov 13:3

Think about what you say and what you do with words said to and about you!
