A Time to Sing

As we welcome 2025, I invite you to join me this year in singing A New Song.

While I don’t know what your 2024 looked like, my year included blessings and setbacks, major miracles and muddy moments.

King David could relate to the year I had and he taught me a powerful lesson on the art of waiting.

Waiting on God and waiting patiently on Him are two different things.

What matters most isn’t the waiting but “how” we wait.

I’ve waited on God plenty but I whined, panicked, complained, compared and criticized the entire time.

David however “waited patiently for the Lord; And He reached down to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the mud;

And He set my feet on a rock, making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear. And will trust in the Lord. Ps 40:1 – 3

He waited expectantly, fully convinced that God would answer and respond favorably moving him from panic to praise!

I have prayers I’m still waiting on Him to answer but now I know I have a choice of how to wait: grumble or be grateful, whine or worship.

This year should you find yourself in seasons of waiting, remember this Psalm promise, fully assured that God will answer with deliverance, elevation, strength and a new song.
